Grief & Loss
At a recent Violence Impact Forum assembly, there were many students who had experienced loss.  These students were not able to handle their feelings about their losses and were reacting with revenge and violence.  Our new “Grief and Loss” group will help students deal with these issues and concerns.  Students will have an opportunity to explore their feelings regarding the loss of a loved one and learn productive ways of working through these issues based on our key messages: “From conflict, love and unity are possible,” as well as “You can work toward forgiveness as opposed to seeking revenge.”

No material throughout these presentations glorifies gang involvement and/or violence. The consequences of youth choices are underscored repeatedly throughout the presentation.
